To provide senior leaders from secondary schools with updates and information sessions covering a wide range of current and high profile issues for schools. Key themes will be covered across the year. The updates will be provided by LA colleagues and senior leaders from schools and are likely to include the following areas:

LA updates
Governance
DFE, Ofsted and research updates
Leadership
Behaviour and attendance
Personal development & PSHE
Safeguarding
Careers
Well-being
Supporting specific groups of students including SEND and the disadvantaged
Transition
Intervention at KS3 and KS4
Communication and literacy updates
Mathematics across the curriculum
Key subject updates, including from science and the Languages Hub
Post-16 updates

These briefings will also provide the opportunity for schools to network and share good practice. A range of inputs will be provided that reflect both national and local priorities, as highlighted above.

The specific agenda for each half-termly briefing is published approximately one week before the briefing on the senior leader website (https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/secondary-support/senior-leaders/our-course-programme/). This will also be circulated to schools via their adviser where appropriate.
