• Improve senior leaders' understanding of what constitutes high quality foundation stage practice, in relation to the Early Years Foundation
Stage Framework;
• explore the contribution of early years' assessment, including the baseline and Foundation Stage Profile, to school improvement; and
• enable participants to evaluate the quality of foundation stage provision through school self-evaluation processes.

This training day provides an opportunity for headteachers and senior leaders to keep up to date with best practice in early years' provision, practice and pedagogy. A variety of different approaches and learning tools are used to assist senior leaders in developing the knowledge, understanding and skills required to lead and manage the EYFS in school.
