  • Diane Sheron (Primary Behaviour Consultant )

This course will:
Enhance your understanding and awareness of autism and the 3 areas of difference that affect pupils on the autistic spectrum.
Help you to approach autism as a difference rather than a disorder.
Introduce you to sensory processing differences, often associated with autism and how this impacts every day life in school.
Give you a toolkit of practical classroom strategies to support a child on the autistic spectrum.

According to the latest figures from the Department for Education, autistic pupils in England are nearly three times as likely to be suspended from school for a fixed period as pupils with no special educational needs. This course is an introduction to understanding autism, with practical adjustments that need to be considered to support them in the classroom.
