Foster Care Fortnight 2025

Foster Care Fortnight™ is The Fostering Network's annual campaign to raise the profile of fostering and show how foster care transforms lives. Foster Care Fortnight runs from 12 – 25 May 2025 – the UK’s biggest awareness raising campaign for fostering! This year’s theme is The Power of Relationships - because at the heart of every fostering journey are the connections that make all the difference.

Foster Care Fortnight. The power of relationships #FCF25

Get in touch today or meet the team

We'd love to know more about you and how you can support a child.

Get in touch today to find out how you can make a positive difference to a local child or meet our fostering team at one of our information or community events.

If you'd like any more information, give our friendly team a call on 0300 0190 200 or use our enquiry form.

There is no typical foster carer – we need people with stability, love and resourcefulness who can help a child with whatever needs they may have.

We welcome applications from all parts of our diverse Lancashire community. Whatever your race, gender, sexuality, living arrangements, faith, age and employment status we want to hear from you. You'll need to be over 21, and living in or close to Lancashire.

Over the fortnight, we’ll be celebrating the many ways relationships transform the lives of children and young people in care. Follow #FCF25 and #FosterWithUsLancs on our @lancashirecc social media channels during the fortnight for updates.

Helen's story

Our foster carer Helen tells us more about the support she gets from her social worker and the wider team.

Helen

"There have been some difficult things to overcome for them and me but my social worker is wonderful and I have had amazing support from her and the rest of the Lancashire fostering team which has allowed me to make a difference in this child’s life."

I spent 37 years in my original career but I am blessed to be able to do something essential plus I have great fun doing it! My favourite moments are seeing all of my foster son's achievements and breakthroughs, seeing him gain confidence and learning to relax within our family."
