*Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, The Scottish Census was put back from 2021 to 2022. Therefore estimates for 2021 were still based on the 2011 Census. This affected the Great British and United Kingdom totals. ONS will publish UK mid-year estimates in February 2024. In the meantime we are showing a figure sourced from Worldometer.
