Academic attainment

Figures are available for the academic attainment of 16-19 year-olds. The results present 'A' and other level three numbers and rates for young people at the end of their financial year, and cover state-funded schools and colleges.

Students have been included if they were aged between 16 and 18 on 31 August 2018; were on roll in January 2019; deemed to be in year 13; had completed their advanced studies in the 2018/19 academic year, and entered for at least one substantial level 3 qualification in the 2018/19 academic year.

There are many possible key indicators which may be found in the tables, but one is that 83.5% of Lancashire students who studied for A levels achieved at least two A levels. This is above the England level of 80% of state-funded schools and also the 81.4% for all schools. In Blackburn with Darwen the rate was 79.9% and in Blackpool 79.8%.
