Personal incomes
The personal income statistics provide insight into the average income of UK tax payers, before income tax deductions. The figures are derived from HM Revenue & Customs' annual Survey of Personal Incomes, which involves a sample of administrative data being used to estimate the income of tax payers and their tax liability. As the data use sample-based estimates, the district and unitary authorities estimates have wide confidence intervals and are, therefore, only a guide.
