Early years pupil premium (EYPP) funding

4. How to claim

You'll need to talk to parents to find out if they may be eligible for EYPP funding.

You can direct parents to the information for parents on GOV.UK.

This funding will not affect any other benefits a parent may be receiving.

Benefits criteria

Where a parent thinks they may be eligible under the benefits criteria you'll need to ask them for their consent to share information with Lancashire County Council so we can check the national eligibility checking system.

When parents sign the parental agreement with you this includes a section where they can agree for us to check their details.

You'll need to input these details on the headcount form and if they are eligible you'll be paid the additional funding alongside your normal EEF claim.

Children looked after and previously looked after children

Where a child is currently looked after by Lancashire County Council, you don't need to do anything - the council will automatically flag these children as eligible.

Where a child has been adopted from local authority care or left care under a special guardianship order the parent will need to provide a copy of the adoption order or special guardianship order.

Children outside of Lancashire

Any children looked after from outside of Lancashire will need will need written confirmation from the local authority who has responsibility for the child.
