Early years pupil premium (EYPP) funding

3. Eligibility criteria

Three and four year old children accessing early education funding (EEF) are eligible for EYPP based on the following criteria:

• Children from low income families (as defined by the criteria for free school meals)
• Children who have been looked after for 1 day or more
• Children who have been adopted from local authority care in England or Wales
• Children who have left care under a special guardianship order or child arrangement order in England or Wales

Who is not eligible

Two year olds in receipt of the early education entitlement do not qualify for the EYPP.
