Assessment without levels

Lancashire Programme for Assessment without Levels

Based on action research and created by Lancashire Consultants and practising English teachers, this programme offers a set of criteria which provides a pathway to GCSE from year 7 and enables teachers to track pupils' progress towards their GCSE targets. Flexible so that schools can record progress and report to parents in any form they wish, this programme nevertheless provides a cohesive set of criteria for both assessment for learning and for formative and summative assessments. Schools purchasing the programme are supported by Lancashire consultants who will provide training on how to apply the programme. It provides an excellent answer to the confusion which resulted from a removal of levels and allows schools to access a common system giving them the confidence that their assessment is in line with the standards being applied by other schools.
