Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) programme

More people in Lancashire are choosing electric vehicles, but for people who live in terraced houses or flats, for example, charging their cars can be a challenge.

Our aim is to deliver these key benefits:

  • A suitable public chargepoint within 500 metres of where they live for people who cannot charge at home.
  • Public chargepoints located in safe and reliable places.
  • Fair prices for using these chargepoints, in line with other local public charging networks.

What we to achieve

Lancashire has received £10.1 million to install more public electric vehicle chargepoints from the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles under the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) Capital Fund.

We also have £400,000 from the LEVI Pilot Fund to install chargepoints in lampposts.

This funding has been provided by the government specifically for this project, and couldn't be used for other work, such as fixing potholes.

Working with the chosen chargepoint operator, we will take a flexible and collaborative approach to make sure we provide the right types of chargepoints in the right places.
