Right start pedestrian training
Since September 2024 more than 5,500 pupils have accessed vital Right Start Child Pedestrian Training, enabling them to make potentially lifesaving decisions when by the roadside.
The programme is designed for use with Key Stage 1 children age 5 – 7 and involves schools and parents working in partnership to enable children to become safer pedestrians. Training for the trainers takes approximately one hour and thirty minutes.
In 2024 we refreshed and streamlined the Right Start Child Pedestrian Training programme. An impressive 66 new schools received Right Start staff training during 2024-25, enabling them to cascade the training to pupils. To find out more or to book a free 90-minute staff training session (offered to all primary schools in Lancashire) – please email roadsafetyeducation@lancashire.gov.uk
