Campaigns and events

The road safety team will send out a termly newsletter via the School portal that can be shared with staff. Every year there are numerous campaigns that have a road safety theme or element. In addition to this we encourage schools to tackle local issues by using their school council to advocate for road safety and act as Junior road safety Ambassadors, and organise termly events and competitions with a road safety theme, these can be done in conjunction with national campaigns.

Road safety week

Road Safety Week 2025 will take place from November 16th-22nd. The event is organised by Brake the national road safety charity and involves a variety of activities to engage schools, organisations and communities to promote road safety.

Last year(2024) the theme was "After the Crash-Every Road Victim Counts".

RoadPeace helps bereaved people by providing peer support amongst other things.

Participating in Road Safety Week 2025 is a great way to promote road safety.

During Road Safety Week 2025 we will again have a focus on the marvellous work done across the county in our schools. The video clip is from 2024 and highlights the work done by our fabulous School Crossing Patrols.

The following link will take you to the Brake website where you can access and request resources and sign up for the 2025 campaign.
