Aims
This session aims to support supervisors and managers to recognise when a difficult conversation is needed, build their confidence and skills to have an effective conversation and achieve positive outcomes.

Objectives
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
• Recognise when and why a difficult conversation is required?
• Explore how their own emotions have an impact on their approach to difficult conversations.
• State the essential stages in planning for the conversation.
• Discuss 'what not to do'.
• Explain how to maintain control of a difficult conversation.
• Demonstrate how effective communication is critical to achieving positive outcomes. (Up to date scenarios will be explored.)
