Briercliffe Primary School

Thank you to this Briercliffe Primary School for this snapshot of their school art gallery.

The gallery took place across two days in June and every year group was involved. There were pieces from across the curriculum. Approx 650 pieces of artwork in total.

• EYFS - observational sketches of shells and Butterflies inspired by Damien Hirst

• YR1 - Picasso inspired portraits and Collages inspired by Eduardo Paolozzi

• Yr2 - Figures in the style of Keith Haring and Bird Sculptures

• Y3 - Chalk landscapes inspired by Lowry

• Y4 - Skull art inspired by Basquait

• Y5 - William Morris Wallpaper, Canvases inspired by Henri Roussea and some clay creates inspired by Robert Bradford

• Y6 - One point Perspective drawings inspired by Stephen Wiltshire and Collages inspired by Hannah Hoch.

These are all pieces from across the art curriculum at different points.

It took some organising to set up but it was well worth it as the children were absolutely delighted to show off their work to their parents.

It was also a great way to see progression across school and for other teachers to realise the journey that the children will go on in art as they move through the school. It was also a great monitoring activity for the art lead.
