- To explore Rosenshine's Principles of Instruction.
- To consider strategies to support with sequencing learning in, and across, a series of lessons.
- To explore modelling techniques for effective explicit teaching.
- To develop a range of strategies to effectively scaffold learning.
- To work collaboratively with colleagues to consider ways to implement and embed these strategies.

Rosenshine's Principles of Instruction are grounded in a varied range of evidence including direct observation of strategies that the most successful teachers used to support their class, research of cognitive science and research into cognitive scaffolds and supports.

This half day course will give delegates the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Rosenshine's Principles of Instruction and consider how to implement these in school. The course will give delegates an overview of Rosenshine's Principles and then focus on methods to sequence concepts to support learning in small steps. We will also examine strategies for modelling and scaffolding; how to implement these effectively and ensure that students do not become over-reliant on the scaffolds used.

This course is part of a series that will examine Rosenshine's Principles grouped into categories to allow for ease of understanding and implementation. Each course stands alone or delegates may choose to attend others in the series to examine all areas.

**OFFER: Book a place on one of our Rosenshine courses and receive another place on a separate course from the same range absolutely free! Courses available in this offer: PTL152 / PTL153 / PTL154 / PTL155, please book both courses at the same time.
