- To inform participants about the EYFSP (Early Years Foundation Stage Profile).
- To interpret assessments and relate these to the EYFSP ELGs.
- To consider ways of effectively managing EYFS assessments, planning for them, building on learning and recording results.
- To understand the importance of moderation of EYFSP assessments.

This course is intended for teachers who are new (or recently returned) to teaching in the reception class. It gives a thorough overview of the EYFSP, which is the statutory assessment tool used in the reception year.

The course will consider how to:
- plan for effective assessment throughout the Early Years;
- plan ahead for the EYFSP assessments and effective ways to manage the process;
- use your EYFSP results in an ongoing way to promote learning and support progress throughout the year;
- involve all staff in the process;
- effective methods to record information; and
- report to parents.
