• To identify the importance of variation in questions to deepen conceptual understanding.
• To discuss how activities can be adapted to extend learning opportunities and encourage children to think and reason more deeply.
• To explore a range of learning strategies for providing challenge
All pupils require depth in their learning, but some pupils will go deeper still in their learning and understanding (NCETM). This course will discuss what deeper learning opportunities look like, consider how teachers can identify those children who need that additional level of challenge, and explore strategies that can be used to raise the level of cognitive demand.
