Our very popular "24 Hours in Leadership" conference for 2023 aims to inspire school leaders to consider how they create learning opportunities that are designed not just to impart knowledge, but also to engage, inspire and make children think. We promise some 'serious' laughter along the way as we also explore what makes a 'happy-centred' school.
"24 Hours…" will help you plan the best way forward, with built-in reflection, review and planning time for you and your senior staff to work together as well as network with other school leaders.
Key Note Speaker – Jonathan Lear
Described as having a breath-taking understanding of how to engage even the hardest-to-reach children, Jonathan has established a reputation for delivering inspiring and creative INSET.
From curriculum design to classroom pedagogy, Jonathon's new book: 'The Monkey Proof Box' provides a thought-provoking guide to the principles of creating inclusive, inspiring and authentic learning opportunities for all of our children.
After-dinner Speaker – Mickey Markham
With his gift for incredibly moving and honest poetry, his natural enthusiasm and his passion to help young people aim higher, Rhythmical Mike is one impressive young man.
After all, sometimes it takes a dyslexic school failure with a gift for capturing the spirit of life in his words and then turning these words into feelings, to help us all realise how we can raise our game in the world of education.
Key Note Speaker – Dave Keeling
Dave has, quite simply, honed the art of making them laugh, making them think and, in this way, making everything different. In doing so, Dave has transformed so many lives.
Dave has been a Laughologist since 2008. Highly engaged, dynamic, face-paced and quick-witted, he has been delivering workshops and programmes for Laughology in education, health and business. Recently, Dave has worked on Laughology's happy-centred schools programme.
Dave is the author of 'The Little Book of Laughter', 'Rocket up your Class' and 'The Book of Invisible Teaching'.
This is a residential course, beginning with lunch on Thursday 29th June and ending with lunch on Friday 30th June. All meals and accommodation are included in the price. The hotel may incur additional charges for some facilities.
Each keynote speaker will last for approximately 3 hours. Key note speakers may offer their books for sale at an additional cost.
The remainder of the time can be used flexibly to meet the needs of the delegates. Some leaders choose to spend this time on school related strategic planning and preparation and others enjoy simply chatting, engaging in dialogue with colleagues or having some personal, reflective or 'quiet' time.
It is hoped that the hotel will also have leisure facilities which are available to resident delegates.
(Please note that some of these facilities will incur an additional charge).
**Delegates wishing to stay over, need to apply for a place before 31st May**
