  • Gemma Whaling (Primary School Adviser)

This programme aims to support the development of future headteachers in Lancashire.
Successful participants move through a modular route with a mixture of face to face conferences, training, school placement and coaching sessions within the two year timescale.

**To ensure that the programme is undertaken at a point when delegates have sufficient experience and knowledge to benefit most from it, those wishing to join the programme will be expected to complete and return an application form by Friday 25th November 2022 and attend an interview shortly after. **

2-year course includes the following elements:
• Completion of an application form based on the Standards of Excellence for Headteachers, followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates.
• Introductory twilight with adviser coaching and self-evaluation against a competency web.
• 2 separate leadership conference days
• A 3-day 'apprenticeship' at a different school.
• Completion of a portfolio of work
• Coaching sessions in trios facilitated by an adviser or link headteacher
• 4 twilight meetings
Over the 2 years, delegates must also attend four leadership and management courses (one leadership, one OFSTED and one school improvement plus one other from these 3 groups based on evaluation against competencies). These will be charged for at the standard rate.
