This course will:
- Demonstrate practically suitable activities for Years 5 and 6 that support the computing curriculum such as those for programming, digital literacy, using technology and creating digital content such as websites
- Look at and provide information and resources to support assessment and sequence of learning in Years 5 and 6
- Discuss the importance and development of computational thinking and unplugged activities in Years 5 and 6
- Look at resources and materials for teaching computing in Years 5 and 6.
This course will provide teachers with skills and knowledge to teach computing in Years 5 and 6 in primary schools. It will look at hardware and software and provide resources and ideas to support the teaching and assessment of computing at upper KS2.
