This course complies with the Department for Education (DfE) training requirements that recruitment panels have at least one person drawn from the school staff or Governing Board who has been trained in safer recruitment. It is NOT a requirement that ALL Governors are trained in safer recruitment. Delegates MUST read Part One of the Keeping Children Safe in Education 2021 Document before they attend the training session.
Following the recommendations of the Bichard Report, this course fulfils the requirement to address safer recruitment in schools.
• Understanding the principles of abuse.
• Safer recruitment processes and making the right decisions.
• Building a culture of vigilance in your school
** It is essential that delegates are able to attend for the full briefing. Those who leave prior to the end of the briefing or do not return their completed assessment sheet will not be deemed to be appropriately trained and will not receive an attendance certificate. **
It is recommended that the governor with responsibility for safer Recruitment undertakes training every 2 years.
This course is for Governors only. Schools who have bought into the Service Level Agreement will receive this course for free as part of their package, but will be charged £25 for non-attendance.
