Talk Six A year-long CPD programme designed to improve outcomes for children in Year 6

The Talk Six Programme includes attendance for up to two staff at each session, which can be decided by the school (e.g. any combination of Y6 teacher(s), Y6 teaching assistant(s), Subject Leader, Headteacher).
The cost of the programme is £1200 which includes two members of staff at each session.
This programme includes:
- English Publication Bridging Unit - The Nowhere Emporium - a full unit of work to be delivered in autumn 1 (prior to the start of Talk Programme training)
- CPD Day 1 – an exemplified biography unit of work (4-5 weeks), to be delivered in the the autumn term, with a comprehensive resource pack.
- CPD Day 2 – an exemplified classic fiction integrated unit of work with non-fiction and poetry (5-6 weeks), to be delivered in the second half of the autumn term or the first half of the spring term, with a comprehensive resource pack.
- CPD Day 3 – an exemplified Shakespeare unit of work using Romeo and Juliet (up to 6 weeks), to be delivered in the second half of the spring term or summer term, with a comprehensive resource pack.
- Half-day Shakespeare workshop delivered by the Shakespeare Schools Foundation.
- Two half-day update sessions with a focus on key skills alongside moderation training and workshops in the autumn and spring terms. Models of moderation will be explored which can be utilised back in school.
- Half-day ‘Last Push Pack for Writing’ training based on a quality text including a supplementary planning unit.
- Half-day final moderation led by Nicola Martin, Lancashire Lead Moderator for KS2 Writing, prior to end of year data submission.
