Fast Track Phonics was primarily written as a catch-up programme for children who did not successfully meet the standard in the Phonics Screening Check. It can be used as catch-up for Year 2 children, or in Year 1 to provide additional support in preparation for the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check. This intervention is in-line with the newly developed Red Rose Letters and Sounds Planning Programme. Ideally, the course should be attended by the class teacher and the adult who will be delivering the programme.

Fast Track Phonics is a 14 week programme, consisting of 3 twenty minute sessions each week. It has been designed as an intervention programme to address gaps in learning from Phases 2 -5. This half day course explores the principles behind the programme with practical support and exemplified delivery of sessions
