• To explore the professional understanding and skills needed to develop students’ metacognitive knowledge
• To explore how to explicitly teach metacognitive strategies including how to plan, monitor and evaluate their own learning
• How to model your own thinking to help students develop their skills
• How to teach students to organise and effectively manage their learning, independently

This training will address the latest research outlining the benefits of metacognition theory and its significant impact on enabling students to evaluate plan, monitor and evaluate their own learning. This is an evidence backed area of education believed to have multiple benefits to students learning across the curriculum

This course is provided at no charge for all ECTs registered with Lancashire County Council as the Appropriate Body as part of our ECT Package, however the full course fee of £45 will be charged in the event of non-attendance or where the ECT is registered with a different Appropriate Body.
