- Explore AfL strategies that can be applied in science which enable key concepts to be understood and remembered
- Explore a range of techniques which encourage discussion and deeper thinking
- Consider how children can record their learning to provide evidence of thinking, understanding and progression

A shorter version of the full day course - particulalry useful for an introduction to AfL in science especially for ECTs and LTA staff.

During this twilight session teachers will explore how to ensure 'sticky learning' in science. Teachers will leave with a list of strategies for adapting teaching, supporting the recording of learning and assessing understanding in their day to day lessons. The importance of vocabulary and how it is taught and used within a sequence of learning will be discussed along with a resource to support deeper thinking and discussion.

ECTs who have trained via the SHARES or Yarrow ITT Programmes would find the "Working Scientifically in Primary Science' or 'Sticky Learning in Primary Science' courses more appropriate than this session to deepen their knowledge and understanding of Science.
