  • Elaine Williams (Assessment Consultant)
  • Catharine Cummins (Teaching and Learning Consultant - Early Years)

- To provide an update on current developments in Early Years practice.
- To provide guidance on collecting and assessing evidence in the Early Years.
- To participate in agreement trialling for three areas from the EYFS Framework.
- To discuss next steps within provision to support children with their development.

This half day training session will be based upon the Early Learning Goals and will give delegates the opportunity to look at three areas in detail. There will also be key updates provided in relation to EYFS and opportunities given for colleagues to discuss approaches that they have been taking in this year.

During the session there will be the opportunity for participants to take part in agreement trialling as well as moderation of their own evidence. We will be looking at the areas of -Self regulation, Comprehension and Fine Motor.

There will be a focus on identifying the next steps for children who are not on track, including identifying strategies and activities that would support the child. Delegates need to bring their current data in order to identify children who need further support.

We ask that each participant brings along with them evidence for a child in their class. The evidence could be for one child, or it may be from two or three different children. The practitioner attending the course can decide and also to the form the that the evidence takes. There is no need to produce anything for the course, everyday classroom evidence is all that is required.

This course will support Teacher Assessment for the EYFS. It will enable practitioners to be confident and accurate in their judgements against ELGs at the end of the Reception Year.

Further Moderation Meetings have been arranged for the end of the academic year that colleagues may wish to book on.

**Please use the email address for the delegate attending the course when booking a place.**
