Assessment: EYFS Updates To Support End of Year Judgements for Reception (2022/2023 Update)

1.To provide guidance on assessing evidence for speaking, word reading, being imaginative and expressive
2. To participant in agreement trialling of evidence for speaking, word reading, being imaginative and expressive. Workshops will provided Practitioners with extended opportunities to discuss the evidence that they bring with colleagues.
3. To moderate judgements made for speaking, word reading, being imaginative and expressive

This half day training session will be based upon the Renewed Early Learning Goals and the New Development Matters with a specific focus on speaking, word reading, being imaginative and expressive. There will also be key updates provided in relation to EYFS and opportunities given for Colleagues to discuss approaches that they have been taking in this year.

During the session there will be the opportunity for participants to take part in agreement trialling as well as moderation of their own evidence.
We ask that each participant brings along with them some evidence for;
1. Speaking
2. Word Reading
3. Being imaginative and expressive

We ask that each participant brings along with them some evidence and is prepared to hold professional moderation conversations (Please note there is no statutory requirement for teachers to keep physical evidence, therefore the evidence asked for here will be a matter for each individual school and teacher to decide upon) for;
speaking, word reading, being imaginative and expressive

NB The evidence could be for one child or it may be from two or three different children. The practitioner attending the course can decide and also in regard to the form the that the evidence takes.

This course will support Teacher Assessment for the EYFS. It will enable practitioners to be confident and accurate in their judgements against ELGs at the end of the Reception Year. Further Moderation Meetings have been arranged for the end of the academic year that colleagues may wish to book on.
