We are sorry, but the public lift is currently unavailable at Burnley central library.
The upper floor and lower ground floors are still accessible via the stairs only.
If you wish to view material, or stock which is normally available on the upper and lower ground floors, please contact us to make an appointment so that we can arrange to make the items available in the main lending library on the ground floor.

Burnley Central library will be closed on Monday 16 December 2024, for essential maintenance inspection works to be carried out.

We are a Lancashire warm space where you can keep warm, access information and advice or spend time with others.
Opening times
Please note that this library will be closed from 9am to 10am on the second Wednesday of every month for staff training.
Every Monday 6pm to 7pm will be Quiet Hour in the library. We ask our customers to respect this by muting phones and devices whilst in the library.
All our libraries will be closed on bank and public holidays and some additional days.

Events and activities
You and your family can attend a range of reading, learning, craft and cultural events and activities. Most are free, some have a small charge and some need to be booked.
Access and parking
Disabled parking is on Thompson car park. Ramp at the front of the building. Lift is available to all floors.
