Care at home
If you want to stay in your own home but struggle with day to day tasks a carer can come in and provide you with support. You may just need that extra pair of hands to help with daily tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, shopping and other outings.
Or you may need more support with personal care or help with your essential daily tasks including:
- Toileting/continence management
- Assistance with mobility
- Assistance with preparing meals
- Assistance with eating and drinking
Care agencies (formally called homecare or domiciliary care) can provide temporary or permanent help, support you a few hours during the day or sleep over some nights of the week. If you have continuing health issues some agencies can provide care workers with more specialist nursing skills.
You can choose and organise to buy your care at home services privately from a care provider without social care services being involved.
Care Navigation Service - whether you buy support privately or we fund some or all of your care we can help by offering advice and guidance to suit your needs
If you think you, a family member or friend needs adult social care support please see 'getting our support' information.
