Tree safety and tree related guidance

The Tree Asset Management Plan is the counterpart of the Tree Risk Management Procedure. The Plan provides the strategic policy on how the county council's arboriculture assets with be managed during the life of the asset management plan.

This guidance sets out our procedures in relation to Risk Based Inspections of Highway Trees.

Information about various categories of trees growing within or adjacent the vehicular highway to follow.

Information and advice about what we will and not do in relation to Highway Trees that may be of concern to Highway users and/or residents.

This guidance , approved by Cabinet In November 2022, (Council - Decision - Tree Risk Management Procedure (lancashire.gov.uk)) has been drafted to enable the county council to improve its procedures with regards the cyclical safety inspection of trees across the entirety of the county council's estate, including trees on or adjacent to the highway, trees within countryside sites and trees on operational sites.
