Woodnook

A revitalised public square next to the community centre on Nuttall Street will encourage people to meet and spend time here. The includes resurfacing the pavement, new trees, raised bed planters and seating.

Improvements in the new public square will focus on slowing down traffic using Royds Street and Nuttall Street, making it safer for people to cross the road. This will involve raising the road to meet the kerb level (known as a raised table) at intervals along the route.

Improved connections to the Hyndburn Greenway will provide better connectivity to the town centre and other key destinations, with a new walking, cycling and wheeling crossing on Nuttall Street.

A new zebra crossing on Hudson Street will make it safer to cross the road and improve routes to Woodnook Primary School. To the south of the school, a new forestry area with trees and wildflower planting to support education and learning.
