UK Community Renewal Fund

2. Overview

The UK Community Renewal Fund is a £220m (national allocation) pre cursor to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), which itself is to replace the European Structural and Investment Funds that are coming to an end.

The UK Community Renewal Fund is revenue focused and will operate until the end of June 2022. It seeks to support people and communities most in need across the UK. 100 geographical areas were given priority for funding based on an Index of Economic Resilience. In Lancashire, Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale were categorised as priority places.

The UK Community Renewal Fund supports revenue projects that have been developed based upon local and community needs and where they can act as pilots for the introduction of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in 2022.
