Blackburn People's Choir

Blackburn People’s Choir was founded in 1998 by a small group of people who had attended six Bulgarian folk song workshops and were anxious to carry on singing.

In 2000 they were involved in the opening of the Lowry theatre in Salford, and there encountered their current Musical Director, Jeff Borradaile.

Since then the choir has had many adventures at home and abroad, visiting choral festivals and enjoying concerts and competitions. There are no auditions and a warm welcome will be extended to anyone who would like to try out unaccompanied choral singing.

The Capricorn Singers

Based in Cleveleys, a delightful seaside town near Blackpool, The Capricorn Singers is a three-part Ladies Choir. We were established almost 40 years ago in January; hence the name ‘Capricorn’ the astrological sign for the month.

With an infectious love for singing, our Musical Director, Chrissie Mason, supported by our very talented accompanist Ian Whalley, prides herself on leading uplifting and fun rehearsals, a joyous highlight of the week for the ladies of the choir.

We perform all over the Fylde Coast – entertaining people, promoting a sense of community, raising thousands of pounds for charities and, most importantly, having fun!

Clitheroe Parish Church Amateur Operatic Dramatic Society (CPCAODS) - show choir

Based in Clitheroe, we are a group united by a love of Musical Theatre, we all have a passion for singing and want to make our audiences smile. We are an eclectic group of all ages. We were formed in early 2022 and linked to Clitheroe Parish Church AODS, aiming to put on at least one concert a year focussing in on a range of pieces. This gives us the opportunity to sing some musical numbers that some of the group would not otherwise be able to perform. We hope you enjoy what you hear and that we make you smile!

Nelson Civic Ladies' Choir

We are a ladies' choir from the Pendle area of Lancashire. Established in 1959, we currently have around 50 members. John Garrett BA Hons (Music), FLOM, LTCL, MISM, has been our musical director for 20 years.

The choir has competed successfully in competitions at home and abroad winning many first prizes at leading music festivals including the Llangollen International Eisteddfod, Mrs Sunderland in Huddersfield and the Elgar festival in Worcester. We have also made numerous recordings and appeared on radio & TV, being finalists in Sainsbury's ‘Choir of the Year’ and winning 1st prize in the BBC TV 'Grand Sing’.

Valley Aloud Community Choir

Valley Aloud is Rossendale’s multi award winning, mixed-adult, Community Choir! Established in September 2010 by the late Sally Ann Bromley as part of Valley Academy, Rossendale’s School of Theatre, Sally spotted a gap for an after-work choir, giving people the chance to sing fun arrangements of well-known, popular songs. Who better to rope in as Musical Director than her son, Grant!

Valley Aloud prides itself on having an eclectic repertoire with a mix of music from our roots in Musical Theatre, through to contemporary pop and gospel. All pieces are rehearsed and performed in 2-4 part harmony and are sometimes accompanied by simple yet effective choreography!

Whitworth Community Choir

Whitworth Community Choir formed 8 years ago in 2013. Our choir provides a place not only to share a love of music, but also to form friendships, share life’s ups and downs, have fun and share this experience to benefit the wider community, singing at charity fundraisers, care homes etc. Singing after all is an aerobic activity that has a wonderful effect on stress and promotes good mental health. This is our first competition entry, and we are very excited to reach the final six.

We are available on our rehearsal night every Tuesday from 7 - 9 pm at Shawforth Methodist Church.
