When the Academy is oversubscribed, after the admission of pupils with Education Health and Care Plans naming the Academy, priority for admission will be applied by the Trust
- (a) Looked after children or a child who was previously looked after, but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, child arrangement order, or special guardianship order or those children who appear to the school to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted then
(b) Children with special medical or social circumstances affecting the child where these needs can only be met at this school - Children who have a sibling attending the school on the date of application and on the date of admission; Siblings include step, half, foster, adopted brothers and sisters living at the same address.
- Distance from the school (measured in a straight line). If there are more applicants than spaces within a category, distance will be used as a tie-breaker. In rare cases where applicants live at the same distance, a random draw will determine the place allocation.
Tie-breaker:
Where there are more applicants for the available places within a category, then the distance between the Ordnance Survey address points for the school and the home measured in a straight line will be used as the final determining factor, nearer addresses having priority over more distant ones. This address point is within the body of the property and usually located at its centre. Where two addresses have the same distance, or the cut-off point is for addresses within the same building, then the Local Authority's system of a random draw will determine which address(es) receive the offer(s).
