Van and trailer appointments

Vans, hire vans and any vehicles towing trailers (all types) must have an appointment to visit a household waste recycling centre.

Please check our access policy page for information if you are unsure whether you van or trailer needs an appointment.

Appointments are limited to one per calendar month.

If no appointments are available please try again at another time. You can make an appointment at any recycling centre so you may have to consider visiting one that you don't normally visit. Same day appointments will not be available.

Please have your vehicle registration number to hand before you book.

Your trailer must display the same number plate as the vehicle you’re towing it with. An appointment is for a van or a trailer - not both.

Appointments are released 6 days in advance and are available up to 24 hours before the appointment is due.

Alternatively call 0300 123 6781 - the telephone booking system is only available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm only. Booking over the phone does not provide any further availability for an appointment than what is available through the online system.


Standard domestic pickups can use a recycling centre without an appointment. A standard domestic pickup is one which is used primarily for personal use and has not been modified to have a greater carrying capacity. Any other pickup should make an appointment.

Camper vans and motor homes

Traditional camper vans, with windows around the vehicle, can also use a recycling centre without appointment. However, larger vehicles such as motor homes must make an appointment to visit.


You can visit a recycling centre on a motorbike or scooter (not mobility scooters) as long as your waste can be transported safely.

Cancelling your appointment

You will be given a time slot for your appointment and you will need to visit the recycling centre within this time slot.

If you cannot make your appointment please cancel it using the link on your email confirmation. If you do not cancel your appointment, or you miss it, you will not be able to book another appointment until the next calendar month.

If you do not provide an email address, or the email address you input is not correct, you will not be able to cancel your appointment.

Changing your appointment 

We are unable to amend the booking details including the vehicle registration number once an appointment is booked.

If you need to change your appointment, you will need to cancel your appointment and book a new one. The same appointment slot will not be available.

Appointments cannot be changed for an alternative date or time.
