Apply for a school place

If you are resident in Lancashire, you can apply online for your preferred primary or secondary schools (even if any of these are outside of the county).

Before you apply for a school place you should find out about the help and information available to you. In particular you must read the relevant information for parents:

• primary school (reception) applications

• secondary school (year 7) applications

• special schools

• changing schools (in year admissions)

• residency

  • moving house in the future

  • applying from overseas

  • if you live outside of Lancashire

  • applying to schools outside of Lancashire

  • home address

  • parents with shared responsibility

• UK crown servants or UK military families

Late applications

Applications for children starting primary school or moving to secondary school in September 2026 have now closed. If you've missed the deadline fill in a late application as soon as possible.
