ICT level 2 qualification - IT0038
Who is this course for?
LCC employees who wish to develop and enhance their ICT and digital skills and gain a Level 2 qualification in IT (equivalent to GCSE).
Aims
The course is delivered in the classroom over a 12-week period. *Delegates will be assessed (virtually) prior to the first session, and, if required, may be signposted to attend a longer programme to assist with learning. Delegates will sit an exam the week after the final session.
Objectives
This course will support you to develop and enhance your ICT and digital skills by working through the City and Guilds ICT Functional Skills curriculum to achieve a nationally recognised qualification at Level 2. Functional skills qualifications recognise the achievement of a wide range of practical ICT skills used in everyday life and work.
At the end of the course you will be able to:
- Utilise your email account to its full potential
- Expand your knowledge of Microsoft Office software to enable you to create Word files including mail merge, design and interrogate databases, create presentations, and manipulate spreadsheets including advanced formulae.
- Deploy enhanced internet search techniques
- Use safety and security features

The course will take place for half day per week, delivered over an 12 week period.
Venue
Face-to-face, classroom-based, all at County Hall, Preston. Please note the Exam will be held on-site at County Hall, Preston.
