Emergency first aid at work for adult disability services – PR0137
Who is this course for?
Mandatory training for all new and existing employees working within Adult Disability Services.
Delegates must be able kneel on the floor continuously for at least 2 minutes during the training to demonstrate practical competency and achieve certification. If you are unable to do so, please do not enrol on this session, as you will not meet the requirements for full certification and will be asked to return to your workplace.
Aim(s)
This course aims to provide awareness of the basic skills and knowledge required to carry out first aid within a working environment.
Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- State the principles of first aid
- Determine the method of assessing priorities for any seriously injured or ill casualty
- Understand the method of dealing with a common hazard for example the unconscious casualty
- Deal with a casualty who has stopped breathing
- Take the correct action when the casualty has no heartbeat
- Understand the legislative aspects of first aid at work
- Manage an unconscious casualty
- Treat problems affecting circulation
- Deal with minor or severe bleeding
