Courageous Conversations - PD0041

Course Code - PD0041

Aims

This course explores how to overcome the fear based barriers which cause anxiety and stop us from initiating a conversation about issues which are important to us and would be professionally and ethically wrong to avoid. In a safe environment of confidentiality participants will be able to explore psychological barriers that prevent them from initiating a specific and real conversation that is currently causing an issue that could be overcome by gaining more courage.

Please note: Course delegates must identify a current conversation prior to attending this course that they are willing to work on and explore on the day.

Objectives

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

• Recognise the unconscious associations which work against us and cause us to avoid initiating a currently relevant conversation.
• Identify how our internal thought processes makes it easier or harder to feel motivated to act.
• Use a range of personal skills to empower greater confidence and the motivation to speak up.
• Understand how to identify and overcome the unconscious barriers that conflict with our desire to have the conversation
