Course Overview
This course is designed for organisations, who, during their daily duties are involved with any form of Temporary Traffic Management on the highway.
Who Should Attend: Highways Technicians and staff as identified on "Mandatory Framework"
Course Aims: To provide learners with the necessary underpinning technical knowledge and skill to supervise Lancashire County employees whilst on site, and to gain an understanding of the legal requirements relating to temporary traffic management schemes

- A reduction of costs and down times associated with poor practice.
- Highly trained workforce.
Learning Outcomes
The learners will have an understanding of the following:
- Have a working knowledge of National Highway Sector Schemes
- Realise the importance and relevance of Health & safety at work
- Have a working knowledge of the relevant codes of practice and other associated documentation when involved in traffic management
- Understand the risk assessment process and be able to carry out risk assessments & method statements on works involving traffic management
- Be able to demonstrate their knowledge and supervisory responsibilities on the highway
- Be able to monitor site and recommend action as conditions change
- Be able ascertain when management intervention is required
Learning Methods
A range of teaching and learning methods including presentation and demonstration will be used with a focus on individual and group participation.
