Course Overview
This course is designed for Lancashire County Council employees, who, during their daily duties are required to Use/Inspect Steps & Ladders, Use a Harness & Lanyard (Fall Arrest).
Course Aim(s)
This course has been developed to ensure that Lancashire County Council employees who are required to use Steps and Ladders and associated Harness (Fall Arrest) are aware of LCC procedures and statutory requirements.
Learning Objectives
The learning objectives are to create:
- Safer working environment.
- A reduction of costs and down times associated with poor practice/personal injury.
- Highly trained workforce.
Learning Outcomes
The learners will have an understanding of the following:
- Legal requirements associated with Working at Height Regulations.
- Inspection of Steps and Ladders.
- Correct use of Steps & Ladders.
- Correct Use of a Harness and Lanyard (Fall Arrest).
- Company Procedures and Risk Assessments.
Learning Methods
A range of teaching and learning methods including presentation and demonstration will be used with a focus on individual and group participation.
