This course is designed for managers and frontline supervisors managing in-house teams or contractors whilst working on the highways
Course Aim
The aims of this course are:
To provide employees working within Lancashire Highways Services with the required knowledge and practical skills essential for managing/supervising working on the highways and verges.
Learning Outcomes
The learners will cover the following subject areas as listed below:
Covers:
Examine the risks when working on high-speed dual and single carriage ways
Identify and employ the measures required to maximise personal health and safety and that of other highway users
Identify and assess situations that are likely to cause danger or serious inconvenience to users of public areas; or harm or danger to any employee
Explore service specific hazards and risks – mitigation and management
Devise a dynamic risk assessment.
Assess best practice case studies – learning from others in the sector
Apply the national Code of practice that governs safe working on the highway, in your work environment
