Who is this course for?
All new employees and existing employees who work in Older People services residential homes who have not completed this course previously within the last 3 years.
Please note that the sessions will be delivered in the virtual classroom until further notice.
Aims
To improve knowledge and understanding of the safe administration of medication
Objectives
By the end of the course the participant will be able to:
- Demonstrate an awareness of legislation framework for use of medication in social care setting.
- Have an awareness of the roles and responsibilities in the use of medication in social care setting.
- Be able to receive, store and dispose of medication supplies safely.
- Have an awareness of common types of medicines and their use.
- Have an awareness of the routes of administration of medicines.
