Who is this course for?

This training is for all social workers, Social Care Support Officers and Managers in the Adult Social Care Services including Mental Health and OT teams.

Please note that there is an expectation that the MCA E-Learning has been completed prior to attending this training.

Aims

To enable participants to undertake Capacity Assessments and reach MCA compliant, defensible Best Interests decisions

Objectives

At the end of be able to;

• Identify when Capacity needs to be assessed.
• Describe the process of assessing Capacity.
• Identify the evidential requirements of a Best Interests decision using a Balance Table.
• Describe the elements of Defensible Decision Making.
