Gender identity awareness - ED0006

Who is this course for?

Those who work in public facing roles in Adult Services. This half-day course is accredited for Social Worker's Continuous Professional Development and provides the participant with 2 CPD hours/points.
Please note all sessions will be delivered as virtually using MS Teams.

Aims

To raise awareness of issues around gender identity and enhance participants ability to respond confidently and sensitively in practice.

Objectives

At the end of the course participants will be able to:
• Identify the relevance of gender identity issues in assessment situations.
• Outline the legal protection set out in the 2010 Equalities Act and the Gender recognition Act 2004, and the implications for their practice.
• Describe how to respond confidently and sensitively to gender identity issues as they meet them in their practice.
