Transitions and School Readiness - FC0123

This course is for Foster carers/ Parents/ Carers of children looked-after (CLA) or previously looked-after children(PLA) and children under a child-in-need or child protection plan with pre-school children. 

Aims

To provide activities and support to help children make a smooth transition into school.

Objectives

Participants will be able to  

• Define what is meant by school readiness
• Be aware of the process of school preparation
• Learn about activities that can be done at home to support development in the three prime areas of: Communication and Language; Personal, Social and Emotional Development and Physical development.
• Be able to research further activities, support and advice online through signposted resources.
