Parenting with PACE (Formerly Therapeutic Caring SCAYT + Day 2) - FC0092
This training is for foster carers who have already completed the session "Introduction to Trauma Informed Care -SCAYT+ Day 1 " training. To gain a better understanding around the impact of developmental trauma and to enhance skills within therapeutic parenting.
If you have not already attended the session "Introduction to Trauma Informed Care -SCAYT+ Day 1 " previously, your application to attend this course will unfortunately be cancelled.
Please note that only the title has changed for this training; it was previously known as 'Therapeutic Caring Day 2' if you have already attended Therapeutic Caring _Scayt+ Day 2 training previously, please do not enrol onto this session.
Some sessions will be delivered virtually. Foster Carers enrolling for these sessions will need their own laptop/PC or smart device to log on to the session.
Aims
- To gain a better understanding around the impact of development trauma.
- To enhance skills within therapeutic parenting.
Objectives
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
- To re-cap on brain development and attachment.
- To better understand the impact of development trauma.
- To enhance their listening skills and learn how to put PACE into practice.
- To recognise the importance of self-care and to develop self-care strategies
