Parent and child foster arrangements - FC0076
This course is for Foster carers who are interested in or considering Parent and Child Foster arrangements.
Aims
To support staff and foster carers to develop their knowledge and understanding of child and parent foster arrangement, its application and impact of these arrangements.
Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
• Define the purpose, benefit and issues for everyone involved with parent & child foster arrangement.
• Define legal, assessment and other contexts for parent & child foster arrangement.
• Recognise the importance of risk assessment and safeguarding issues.
• Recognise the importance of record keeping and understand the purpose of forms relating to this type of fostering arrangement.
• Identify support needed for this type of arrangement, for both the family in the arrangement and for carers providing the arrangement.
