This course is for Foster Carers only.

Aims


This course will identify the key components of the statutory framework which governs fostering services and explore the practice implications.

 

Objectives

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Have an overview of the National Minimum Standards (NMS) and 12 child focused standards
  • Discuss their significance for foster carers and how they relate and link with children's rights and best outcomes.
  • Enable foster carers to reflect and consider the ways in which they are meeting the key outcomes for NMS.
  • Explore and identify what “good practice” looks like and share experiences of child centred practice.
